Tempo (BPM) isn't measured properly. Why not?
The factors that can cause this vary depending on how you use the unit.
■ When you connect the unit with audio cables only
When the audio input level is too high or too low, the BPM value may not be measured. As a guide, adjust the volume on the connected device so the [INPUT] level meter lights up in yellow.
Depending on the track, the BPM value may not be measured correctly. In this case, use the [TAP] button to manually enter the BPM value.
■ When you connect the unit to the PRO DJ LINK network (via LAN cables) or use Digital SEND/RETURN
Depending on how this unit is connected, check that the following settings are correct.
1) Connect this unit between the multi-player and DJ mixer.
Set the [CONNECTION] switch on the rear panel of this unit to [CDJ]. Set the [AUTO REF. PLAYER] setting on this unit to the same number as the PLAYER No. of the connected multi player.
When connected to a compatible multi player, the unit's BPM AUTO function works based on the BPM of the multi player corresponding to the PLAYER No. set in [AUTO REF. PLAYER].
2) Connect this unit to a DJ mixer using a PHONE cable via SEND/RETURN.
Set the [CONNECTION] switch on the rear panel of this unit to [SEND/RETURN], and connect the DJ mixer to the PRO DJ LINK network.
The BPM AUTO function of this unit works based on the BPM of the multi player corresponding to the PLAYER No. matched with the channel number sent via the MULTI I/O on the DJ mixer
3) Connect this unit to a DJ mixer using Digital SEND/RETURN
Connect the DJ mixer to the PRO DJ LINK network. The BPM AUTO function on this unit works based on the BPM of the multi player corresponding to the PLAYER No. matched with the channel number sent via the MULTI I/O on the DJ mixer
4) Connect this unit to the [MASTER] of the DJ mixer.
Set the [CONNECTION] switch on the rear panel of this unit to [MST], and connect the DJ mixer to the PRO DJ LINK network.
The BPM AUTO function of this unit works based on the BPM of the multi player corresponding to the PLAYER No. matched with the channel number currently playing on the master channel of the DJ mixer.
When connecting as described in 2) to 4), ensure the [PLAYER No.] on the multi player is configured correctly.
If you can't change the [PLAYER No.] during playback or the BPM isn't displayed on the multi player, manually enter it with the [TAP] button on the unit.
For details on changing the PLAYER No. and other settings, see the PRO DJ LINK Setup Guide.
