I want to sync the SQUID with an external MIDI device.

You can sync this unit with external MIDI devices by setting [Sync Source] in the [Sync Common] setting category of the GLOBAL menu. Please see the "Synchronizing the unit to an external MIDI devices or a PC/Mac" in the Operating Instructions of this unit.
