The tempo display fluctuates when slaved, is it normal ?

Yes, this is not an issue. The SQUID uses the clock pulses received to calculate the tempo, however, the clock pulses always have a little bit of jitter (fluctuation) between each other.
These fluctuations make the tempo display fluctuate, but it doesn't mean that the devices are getting out of sync.
And this cannot be heard by a human hear.
