I want to use a DAW software with the TORAIZ SP-16. Will this be possible if I just connect this unit and a Windows or Mac computer with a USB cable?
There are three ways to take the SP-16's sound into your DAW.
(1) Connect analog audio cables and record the audio stream on the DAW.
(2) Use the RENDER AUDIO function and you can render your work as audio files to the internal flash memory or an external USB thumb drive then you can read them on your DAW. In this case, you cannot apply analog filter effects.
(3) Use the SAMPLING/EDIT function or the LIVE SAMPLING function and select the SOURCE to "RSMPL" (means RESAMPLE) then you can record the audio stream from master out terminal internally. After that access TORAIZ/Samples/Saved folder from your computer, finally you will see the recorded audio file (it depends on the place of current project file whether internal memory or external thumb drive). In this case, you can apply analog filter effect but the recording length will be limited to 64 seconds.
Additionally, if you wish to synchronize a DAW with the sequencer on this unit, select “Pioneer DJ TSP-16” in the MIDI clock destination on the DAW side, and “USB MIDI” in the SYNC settings in the utilities on this unit.
