I wish to use DAW software. Will this be possible if I just connect this unit and a Windows or Mac computer with a USB cable?

DI communication is possible by connecting the [USB-B] terminal on the rear panel and your Windows or Mac computer with a USB cable.
You don't have to install dedicated driver software. Windows/Mac standard driver will be automatically installed.
