Can I choose to not output the microphone sound via the BOOTH output?

Yes. You can do this by turning off [MIC OUT TO BOOTH] in the [UTILITY] screen. For details, see [Changing the settings] and [MIXER category] in the [Setting preferences] in the Operating Instructions, available [here].
