Can the iPhone/iPad be recharged?

However, an iPhone/iPad cannot be recharged when power is being supplied to this unit by USB bus power, so connect the AC adapter to this unit when recharging an iPhone/iPad.

Furthermore, an iPhone/iPad cannot be recharged when the power of the iPhone/iPad is off or when there is no battery power remaining.
