How should I adjust the buffer size?
The latency (the time from which the DDJ-SB2 is operated until sound is output) can be shortened by reducing the buffer size setting. If there are interruptions in the sound, increase the buffer size. Note, however, that this lengthens the latency. Set the buffer size to the minimum setting at which there are no interruptions in the sound.
For those using a Macintosh computer
This can be adjusted at “SETUP” in Serato DJ Intro.
For those using Windows
Like the buffer size setting at “SETUP” in Serato DJ Intro, this can also be set with the kernel buffer number in the DDJ-SB2 ASIO settings utility.
Use the procedure below and set the buffer size to the minimum setting at which there are no interruptions in the sound.
Check whether sound interruptions occur with Serato DJ Intro’s default settings (buffer size: 512 samples).
[If there are no sound interruptions with Serato DJ Intro’s default settings]
1. Set [USB BUFFER SIZE (LATENCY)] in the Serato DJ Intro software to the minimum buffer size at which there are no interruptions in the sound.
2. Launch the DDJ-SB2 ASIO settings utility, change [Kernel Buffer Number] to [2] and check that there are no interruptions in the sound.
3. If no interruptions in the sound occur, set [USB BUFFER SIZE (LATENCY)] in the Serato DJ Intro software to the minimum buffer size at which there are no interruptions in the sound. If interruptions in the sound do occur, change [Kernel Buffer Number] in the DDJ-SB2 ASIO settings utility to [3].
[If sound interruptions do occur with Serato DJ Intro’s default settings]
1. Launch the DDJ-SB2 ASIO settings utility and change [Kernel Buffer Number] to [4].
2. Set [USB BUFFER SIZE (LATENCY)] in the Serato DJ Intro software to the minimum buffer size at which there are no interruptions in the sound.
