The DDJ-SB2 is not recognized by the computer.
To OS X Mavericks v10.9.x users:
It was recently discovered that some users may experience problems with some Pioneer DJ software and drivers under certain conditions.
- When a user's Mac pre-installed with OS X 10.9.2 has never been connected to DDJ-SB2 via a USB.
Pioneer DJ is currently investigating this issue to detect the root cause, but there is a valid work around.
Please see the effective workaround from this link.

Replace “DDJ-ERGO” with “DDJ-SB2” as you read the instructions.
Check the following:
1. Is the driver software installed? (Windows)
With Windows, the ASIO driver software must be installed.
(There is no need to install driver software with Mac OS.)
For instructions on installing the driver software, see the operating instructions.
2. Is the DDJ-SB2 recognized on your computer?
-Windows: Check using the [DDJ Version Display Utility].
From the Windows [Start] menu, click [All Programs] > [Pioneer] > [DDJ_SB2] > [DDJ_SB2 Version Display Utility].
The driver software’s version and the DDJ-SB2’s firmware version are displayed.
-Mac OS: Check using the Mac OS [System Profiler].
See the link for the checking procedure.
The link describes an example for the DDJ-ERGO.
Replace “DDJ-ERGO” with “DDJ-SB2” as you read the instructions.
3. Is the USB cable properly connected?
-> Connect to the computer using the USB cable included with the DDJ-SB2.
4. Are you using a USB hub?
-> A USB hub cannot be used. Be sure to connect to a USB port on the computer allowing power to be supplied.
5. Are other applications running?
Quit all other applications for the time being, including screensavers, resident software, etc.
(When quitting anti-virus software, etc., to ensure the safety of the computer, disconnect the computer from the Internet while checking.)
6. Is a USB device other than the DDJ-SB2 connected?
Disconnect any other USB devices such as external hard disks, certain keyboards, etc., and check using only the internal hard disk.
7. If the computer has multiple USB ports, check on the other USB ports.
8. Check the computer’s sound settings.
