DDJ-S1 is not recognized even when Serato DJ is launched.
Please check all the following settings.
1. Is the driver software installed? (For Windows users)
You need to install a ASIO driver on your Windows computer.
(Mac OS users need not do this.)
Please see the Operating Instructions for details of installation procedures.
2. Does your computer recognize DDJ-S1?
Windows: Check [DDJ Version Display Utility].
Click the Windows [Start] menu > [All Programs] > [Pioneer] > [DDJ] > [DDJ Version Display Utility]
The driver software version and the firmware version are displayed on this window.
Mac OS: Check [System Information (or System Profiler)] on Mac OS.
1) Connect DDJ-S1 to your computer and turn DDJ-S1 power on.
2) Open [Application] folder, [Utilities] folder and [System Profiler] folder.
3) Choose [PIONEER DDJ-S1] from ▼Hardware - USB

3. Is the USB cable properly connected?
⇒ Please connect your computer to DDJ-S1 using the USB cable enclosed with the unit.
4. Don’t you use a USB hub?
⇒ You cannot use a USB hub. Please ensure that your computer is directly connected to a USB port which can supply the power.
5. Aren’t other applications running?
Please close all the other applications such as a screen saver and resident software.
(When you close antivirus software, please make sure to disconnect the Internet access to secure your computer.)
6. Aren’t other USB devices than DDJ-S1 connected to your computer?
Please remove an external hard disk drive or a key board, if applicable. Then, please check the connection only using the internal hard disk drive.
7. Please connect the cable to other USB ports for testing if you have multiple USB ports on your computer.
8. Check the sound settings of your computer.
Windows computer sound settings
1) Connect DDJ-S1 to your computer and turn it power on.
Go [ControlPanel] - [Hardware and Sound] and click [Sound]

2) If PIONEER DDJ-S1 has been "Default Device", go to 3.

3) Choose other sound device rather than PIONEER DDJ-S1 and click "Set as Default Device". Close the window by clicking "OK".

4) Close the control panel and resart your computer.
Mac Audio MIDI setting reload
1) Connect DDJ-S1 to your computer and turn it power on.
2) Open [Applications] folder, [Utilities] folder and [Audio MIDI Setup.app].
3) Open [Audio Device] window. Confirm that [Audio MIDI Setup] windows pops up. Click [Window] and choose [Show MIDI Window].

4) [MIDI Studi] window opens up, click [PIONEER DDJ-S1] icon. The icon turns to blue color, click [Remove Device]. "PIONEER DDJ-S1" icon dissapers and comes back again.

5) Close [Audio MIDI Setup] and turn DDJ-S1 power off.
6) Turn DDJ-S1 power on and run DJ Application.
