Check the following on your computer.
For macOS Sierra or OS X:
Open the Apple menu while pressing the [Options] key and then select [System Profiler...]. Select the [Hardware] > [USB] item and check whether or not "DDJ-XP1" is displayed.
For Windows 10 or Windows 8.1:
Right-click the Start button and select [Device Manager] from the displayed menu. Expand [Sound, video and game controllers] and check whether or not "DDJ-XP1" is displayed.
For Windows 7:
Select [Control Panel] from the [Start] menu.
Select [Hardware and Sound] > [Device Manager].
Expand [Sound, video and game controllers] and check whether or not "DDJ-XP1" is displayed.
If "DDJ-XP1" was not displayed in the procedure above, try the following.
(1) Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable on the unit side and on the computer side.
(2) Turn the computer power off and then back on.
(3) Are you using a USB hub?
⇒ A USB hub cannot be used. Be sure to connect this unit to a USB port on the computer that can supply power.
(4) Are USB devices other than DDJ-XP1 connected?
⇒ Remove external hard disks and the keyboard (for some models), etc. to check the status with only the built-in hard disk.
(First remove all USB devices and then check whether the DDJ-XP1 is recognized when just the computer and DDJ-XP1 are connected.)
(5) If your computer has more than one USB port, check using a different USB port.
If the unit is still not recognized after performing all of the checks, the USB cable is likely to have a broken wire. Check the USB cable.
