I have connected the effecter to the SEND/RETURN terminals, but cannot achieve an echo retaining effect with the fader. Why is this?

The echo retaining effect cannot be achieved when the SEND/RETURN terminals' effect channel is set to the respective channels. An echo retaining effect can be achieved by setting the effect channel to crossfader A, crossfader B or master.
